Connections to the Southeast

This week we started learning about the Southeastern region.  Many students made some great real world connections.  We would love to hear what you've learned about the Southeast region through your travels or experiences with these states.

When I was in Richmond, Virginia, I remember that it was really close to both Washington D.C. and the Atlantic Ocean. When I went to Virginia Beach I remember seeing a huge hill built out of garbage. They covered the garbage with dirt, grew grass, and turned the area into a skate park called Mount Trashmore.

Once I went to Florida and it was very sunny when we were there. I remember i was very close to the Atlantic Ocean, and close to the Gulf of Mexico.

I've been to Tennessee and Kentucky before many times. It is very hot and dry there. The soil is great for growing plants and vegies.
