On Thursday many of our Westwood families came out in full force to pack boxes for Christmas Clearinghouse. This is such an honored tradition at Westwood. Thank you so much for taking your time to help out again this year.
The holiday season has officially arrived at Westwood. :) This morning we enjoyed winter stories by the fireplace with our principal. :) Mr. Ross shared with the students that one of the best gifts you can give is your time. Such an important reminder for us all during this busy time. I hope you and your family are able to spend some special moment together this season. Happy Holidays. :)

This past week I attended a great conference where I learned all sorts of card games we could play in the classroom to help the students practice their math skills. If you have an extra deck of playing cards that your family doesn't need, and you would be willing to donate it to our classroom, please send it in Monday or Tuesday. Thank you so much for your help and support.
This week's Art Discovery lesson was all about creating your own unique self-portrait. Can you find your child? The kids did a fantastic job applying the skills from the lesson this week. After you are done enjoying our students' artistic abilities, check out a different kind of self-portrait in this video.
A bout of reindeer hiccups has scattered Santa's presents throughout Europe. Use your logic to help Santa collect his presents. Post your score below when you are done. :) Have fun, and good luck....it took me 3 tries to get through Level 1. My score was 449. Good luck! :)
The first snowfall of the season is always a magical time as we all rush to the window to enjoy the big, beautiful flakes falling from the sky. Now it time to make some snowflakes of our own. :) Click on the link below to head to the Snowflake Workshop. There you will be able to click on the virtual pencil to design your own unique snowflake. Once you have cut it out using your virtual scissors, click "share". You will be given an option to send your virtual snowflake as a virtual greeting card. You can skip this step and then they will give you a "code" for your unique snowflake. If you post that below we can all see your creations! :) Have fun, and happy creating!
