The Paperless Challenge

This week our class succeeded in using only 162 sheets of paper!  That means we were 88% paperless this week! :)

We also celebrated our 1st official paperless day on Friday.  The kids brainstormed and came up with some wonderful learning activities that would not require the use of paper.  They showed great creativiy and problem solving, and we all had a lot of fun.  :)

We love our Grandmas!

and Grandpas, and aunts, and uncles, and neighbors!

This month our class turned in the most number of box tops for the school AND the most number of box tops per student!  Thank you to everyone who's able to save these precious little money makers at home.  And a special thank you goes out to N18's granmother, who sent in a very large bag filled to the brim with box tops!  Keep saving and spreading the word to other supportive family members!  All of your efforts are making a big difference.  :)

Rockin' Recorders Program!

A note from Mrs. Durbin:

Your child will be performing in the upcoming Rockin' Recorders program on Thursday, April 21st, at 1:00pm.  At this concernt, four classes will be playing their recorders.  I hope you can attend and support your children in their efforts.  The children should be dressed for the occasion, and come prepared with their recorder and book.  Appropriate clothes should be nicer than school clothes.  Skirts for girls, dress pants and a nice top would all be considered appropriate.  Boys are welcome to wear ties, but it is not necessary.  See you then!

Class Book Title Ideas

We are quickly finishing up our stories for our Class Book, but we need a title! If you have any ideas for the title of our Class Book, please post them below. We will vote tomorrow.

The title of our book is A Wild Adventure of Wonderful Books.  Great job stretching your brains and coming up with some fun titles!  Remember, drawings for the cover contest are due Thursday morning.  We will vote then.  Thank you!  :)

How Was Your Break?

Spring break is such a great time for spending time with friends and family, relaxing, and finding time to play. It's also great to reconnect with everyone after our week off. At our house we took a trip downtown to check out the Shedd Aquarium. My kids loved trying to find a "Nemo fish" and watching the divers in the tanks. I would love to hear about your break! Share below one of your favorite memories from Spring Break. :)
